Design Your Future Pipeline: Introducing Project Generators in Captario SUM

As the holiday season approaches, I wanted to share an exciting update on something we’ve been working on at Captario: Project Generators. This is an early gift for anyone tackling pipeline renewal, closing revenue gaps, or exploring innovative investment strategies to strengthen their portfolio.

Project Generators are exactly what the name suggests—a feature inside Captario SUM that allows users to generate new projects based on customizable templates. These projects are automatically added to the pipeline at a specified time and are fully integrated into all portfolio outputs during simulations.

Here’s why this is valuable:

🎯 Flexibility with Variability

The generators can use ranges for timelines, risks, costs, and revenue. This means our templates can reflect the inherent variability of drug development projects, providing a more realistic picture of what your pipeline could look like under different scenarios.

🔄 Multiple Generators for Complex Portfolios

We’re not limited to just one generator. We can create multiple templates—for different therapeutic areas, risk/reward profiles, or even for specific strategies. This flexibility allows us to mix and match inputs and test various combinations to determine which approach yields the best results for our portfolio's goals.

🤝 Business Development Insights

Project Generators are also a powerful tool for modeling business development strategies. For example, we can create templates for late-stage deals (e.g., Phase 2 assets) and early-stage partnerships, then test different combinations to see which strategy aligns best with our revenue targets.

💡 Better Decision Support

By leveraging Project Generators, we can explore a wider range of portfolio scenarios, enabling richer decision support. The more options we investigate, the better positioned we are to make decisions that lead to therapies reaching patients—and to business success.

In conversations with stakeholders, this capability provides a solid foundation for presenting our analysis. We can confidently say, “Yup, we looked at that scenario, and here’s what we found.”

At its core, Project Generators empower teams to ask “what if” questions and answer them with clarity, helping to uncover the best investment strategies for the portfolio. I believe that tools like this are key to making informed, strategic decisions that benefit both patients and the business.
