I’m happy to share that my colleague Stig Johan Wiklund and I, together with Frank Miller at Linköping University, have published a new article on Project Portfolio Optimization.

Unlike most discussions on this topic, which focus on selecting from existing projects, we
took a different approach—optimizing the replenishment of the portfolio to ensure long-term sustainability.
In this article, we also explore three key aspects of portfolio balance:
1️⃣ Ensuring a certain number of projects in each phase of development
2️⃣ Maintaining coverage across all disease areas
3️⃣ Meeting targeted launch numbers for each disease area
This article could be particularly relevant for those working in corporate strategy or portfolio management in pharma.
I would love to hear your thoughts—let me know what you think in the comments!
