Introducing Project Generators: Dynamic Strategy Simulation in Captario SUM

🚀Here’s some exciting Captario news! We’ve just released the next generation of Captario SUM, bringing unprecedented simulation speed and some exciting new capabilities.

One of the new cool features is Project Generators.

With this feature, we can inject new projects into the pipeline dynamically, using a selected project template as a base. We define how many projects to add—either a fixed number or a range per year. SUM will then run them through simulations just like any other project.

Each generated project comes with:

✅ Timelines

✅ Cost profiles

✅ Risk assessments (PTRS)

✅ Revenue forecasts

… all customizable within predefined ranges, making each simulation run unique.

🔹 Why is this a game-changer?

This new functionality enables data-driven strategy planning at an entirely new level. Portfolio managers can now:

📌 Test corporate strategies for replenishing the portfolio—balancing discovery vs. business development.

📌 Evaluate what it takes to hit target revenue or product launch goals.

📌 Optimize the future mix of modalities in the pipeline.

📌 Analyze risk appetite—balancing first-in-class (FIC) vs. best-in-class (BIC) or me-too projects.

📌 Assess business development strategies and their impact on future growth.

Each generator can have its unique project profile, providing clear insights into different strategic approaches.

In the image (attached), you’ll see:

📊 Contribution to revenue by generator – pinpointing how different project types drive revenue.

📊 Overall portfolio revenue trends – including on-market products, pipeline projects, and new assets.

📊 Phase volume of projects – tracking how new assets progress through the pipeline.

📊 Likelihood of achieving launch targets – answering key questions on future product introductions.

I will claim that with generators, SUM isn’t just a portfolio management tool—it’s a management tool that supports corporate strategy planning as well!
